The Merlin Heritage Collection seamlessly blends classic styling with modern protection to create a versatile selection of motorcycle clothing. We use a range of different market-leading materials, including Halley Stevensons® Waxed Cotton, D3O® armour and Reissa® waterproofing to ensure the highest quality. Merlin Kurkbury Cotec Jacket

Utilising the Halley Stevensons®-Merlin collaboration Cotec for its construction, the Kurkbury waxed cotton motorcycle jacket gives the traditional wax cotton look minus the waxy handle. Cotec is exclusive to us and is lighter (8oz vs 12oz) than our traditional wax jackets, making it a great option for riding in warmer climates. The classically-styled Kurkbury produces 50s vibes, but is bang up-to-date to include vented D3O® armour (with a pocket for the optional D3O® Viper back protector) and Outlast® temperature regulating technology in a full-sleeved thermal liner. Available in two classic colours – black or brown – Kurkbury’s style is completed with brass-finished hardware and a chunky adjustable waist belt. Available in sizes S-4XL.

Caring for your Kurkbury jacket

To care for your wax cotton jacket, begin by lightly brushing off any dirt or soil, and use a cold damp cloth if necessary to wipe down the jacket. Clean it in this way regularly to maintain its appearance, but don’t be too harsh as the wax will be removed. You can re-wax the jacket with our Merlin Wax Cotton Tin when it loses its waxed finish and water begins to soak into the cotton rather than bead off.
