Product Description

Merlin has license rights to produce waxed cotton by manufacturer Halley Stevensons of Scotland. Halley Stevensons has been manufacturing waxed cotton for decades, supplying recognised leading brands.

We have introduced the Sandon waxed cotton biker jacket using Halley Stevensons together with the latest technologies that include a Reissa waterproof and breathable membrane, drop liners and a zip in-zip out thermal lining. The Sandon jacket is the shorter mens alternative to both the Merlin Armitage and Rowan jackets.

Care instructions of the waxed cotton can be found on our FAQ’s page.

I’ve had this jacket for three months and used it for a 5,000 mile European tour. I can’t attest to its waterproofing in really heavy “fat” rain because it hasn’t yet rained that hard.

But this is a good piece of kit. It’s tough, heavy duty and looks built to last. Some clever design elements too like sleeve pocket for coins – useful for tolls.

I own a Barbour m/c jacket and although it’s nice, it is so lightweight and flimsy compared to the Merlin.
